Museum lessons
All museum lessons for primary school classes fall under the Cultuurregeling met Kwaliteit (Culture Programme with Quality) (CMK). Interested, but your school does not participate in this programme? You can still apply for a special museum lesson. These take place in the museum and are derived from the CMK offer.
CMK lessons at school
For these lessons, the museum comes to you! This programme has two contact moments of about an hour per group. At least one live visit to the Van Abbemuseum is of course preferred. If that fails, we can set up a museum on location with some replicas of our masterpieces.
For groups 1 and 2, we put the experience of art centre stage. Pupils put their senses on alert and engage in real gymnastics with materials. Then, together with the help of fun viewing games, they will explore what actually happens to you when you look at art.
In two language workshops, groups 3 and 4 work on putting the art experience into words. What do you want to say, what can you say about it and how do you find the right words? A fun and accessible way to train the analytical and reflective 'muscle'.
