Jan Snel

After the corona pandemic, which had led to difficult decisions for the choir, and after ten years of being the artistic director of the Van Abbemuseum choir, Willy de Rooij, although with a heavy heart, had enough. She was going to retire as a conductor.

The choir has found a great successor in Jan Snel. Before he said yes to us, he had been familiar with our choir for a long time. During a Singing Manifestation in 2016-2019 he was conductor of one of the invited choirs. And during a performance with the Dutch Sign Choir he accompanied us on the piano. In addition to being a conductor, Jan is also a singer and pianist.

On September 24, 2023, we formally welcomed our new conductor and said goodbye to the old one, with laughter, tears and song.
